In 1998 UAS returned to Labrador in search of the lost B-17. |

It was commonly believed the plane would be resting on the lake bottom. Perplexed by the complete lack of any signs of the B-17 the search area was expanded. |

Eventually the wreck was located ten miles down stream from Lake Dyke. Resting in 20 feet of water the B-17 is in excelent shape. Preserved by the cold fresh water this plane, when restored, will fly again. |
