Search for the B-17 |
| Often, ‘X’ doesn’t mark
the spot. In this case the B-17 was found ten miles from the original
crash site. It's believed the plane floated on the ice pack during the
spring thaw. When the ice was insufficient to support the B-17 it
sank to a depth of twenty feet in the middle of the river. |
