Jambo from the Continent of Africa

The intermediate multi-age classes have been having an exciting quarter learning about the huge continent of Africa. Did you know that Africa had some of the oldest civilizations in the world and yet has some of the youngest countries?

We have learned the scientific explanation of the Curse of King Tut and how to write in Egyptian Hieroglyphics. We are studying about ways that life in Africa is the same as and different from our lives.

Each student is doing a research report on one of the 52 African countries and working on projects that range from building pyramids out of sugar cubes to cooking East African soup.

We will be displaying some of these super projects up in the library in February. Be sure to stop in and see them! Mr. Voelker, Mrs. Upham and Mrs. Wiley are the multi-age teachers.
