On behalf of the staff, I would like to thank the parents of our students for their support during conferences. It was really great to meet and talk with many of you. Your children were shown how much you care for their success.
All Lake City parents are invited to attend a school profile meeting of Lake City on Wednesday, April 10th from 3-6 p.m. in the school gym. Child care will be available as well as refreshments. Please come out, participate and help us decide the future direction Lake City should go to make it the best it can be to serve each student and the community.
Lake City is pleased to welcome student teacher, Dorinda Price. She will be spending the remainder of the school year in Mrs. Schwartze and Mrs. SeivertŐs classrooms.
Does your child show curiosity about many topics, learn quickly and easily, or use advanced vocabulary? If you can answer ŇyesÓ to these questions, you might want to nominate your 3rd-6th grade child to participate in the district-wide testing for highly capable programs. If you would like your child tested, please contact Craig Randall, Lake CityŐs school counselor at 589-7780. This testing will be given Friday, April 19th.
Lake City Elementary School students and staff will be participating in an Earthquake Preparedness Drill on Thursday, April 11. This will involve practicing the procedures to be used in the event of a real earthquake and a debriefing to follow the drill.
Congratulations to the below listed students who were chosen Citizen of the Month. Each student received a certificate and pizza award. The Lake City PTA Mind and Body A Thon fundraiser will be held on Friday, April 26th. Students will pick an event to participate in for 30 minutes and ask people to sponsor them for this. Student packets went home April 8th. Student choice sheets need to be returned April 12th and sponsor sheets come back April 26th. Any child returning a sponsor sheet by May 3rd is eligible for a prize. Other prizes will be given for the most sponsors and money collected. PTA needs volunteers between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. on the 26th and would love th have any adults join us for this FUN day. Contact Kathleen Schwartze at Lake City.
